MBM was engaged by Brisbane Airport Corporation to provide expert cost management services for the Aeromedical Precinct project, which will connect rural and remote Queenslanders with life-saving medical care.
Led by Senior Quantity Surveyor Chathu Dahanayake, who leveraged extensive experience in complex infrastructure projects, the Queensland team is supporting the client to ensure successful delivery of the transformative development.
Spanning 18,700m² and located at the Airport North Precinct between Brisbane Airport’s two runways, the multi-tenanted facility will house key stakeholders, including the Royal Flying Doctors Service (RFDS), LifeFlight, Retrieval Services Queensland, and the Queensland Police Service Aviation Capability Group. Under Chathu’s leadership, MBM is providing comprehensive cost planning and advisory services to deliver value for all stakeholders.
The Aeromedical Precinct will feature state-of-the-art hangars for fixed and rotary-wing aircraft, advanced patient transfer facilities, administration areas, and a medical base for regional patient and donor transfers. Chathu’s strategic oversight and commitment to precision have been instrumental in shaping the facility, which will enhance healthcare access and outcomes for Queensland’s most remote communities.
